DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1: CUSCO – SANTA MARÍA – SANTA TERESA – HIDROELÉCTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES
Departure from Cusco by tourist transport heading toward Santa María, continuing to Santa Teresa and then to Hidroeléctrica. From Hidroeléctrica, the guided walk follows the railway line to Aguas Calientes for the overnight stay. This first day combines long-distance road travel through high mountain passes and cloud forest transitions before reaching the lower jungle zone. The guide coordinates each segment, ensuring organized connections between transport and walking sections along this alternative access route.
DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – HIDROELÉCTRICA – SANTA TERESA – SANTA MARÍA – CUSCO
Early departure from Aguas Calientes with ascent to Machu Picchu for the guided visit. After the exploration, descent back to Aguas Calientes and walk to Hidroeléctrica. Tourist transport continues through Santa Teresa and Santa María before returning to Cusco. This second day integrates guided archaeological interpretation with coordinated walking and road transportation, completing the round-trip journey through the same scenic Andean and jungle corridor back to Cusco.
