DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – CHALLACANCHA – SORAYPAMPA
Early departure from Cusco by tourist transport toward Mollepata, continuing to Challacancha where the trek begins. The guided hike proceeds to Soraypampa for the first campsite. This day combines road travel and gradual trekking across high Andean terrain, allowing acclimatization while following a scenic mountain corridor. The guide coordinates the transition from vehicle to trail and leads the group at a steady pace through open valleys and panoramic landscapes before arrival at camp.
DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA – SALKANTAY PASS – HUAYRACMACHAY – CHAULLAY
Departure from Soraypampa with a steady ascent toward Salkantay Pass, the highest point of the route. The trail then descends to Huayracmachay and continues toward Chaullay for the overnight stay.
