We will pick you up from your Cusco hotel at 4:30 a.m. Then, we’ll take our private vehicle to Mollepata town. We’ll be driving across the Andes Mountains’ winding roadways. After arriving at Mollepata, we will have a light breakfast..
Then, we’ll continue driving to Soraypampa, where the trail to the Humantay Lagoon begins. The walk is around 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) long and takes about 1.5 hours to finish.
Humantay Lake is one of Cusco’s most popular tourist attractions. Its distinctive blue seas provide an ideal backdrop for pictures. The Humantay Lagoon is situated between the mountains of Salkantay and Humantay. These snow-capped summits are revered as Andean deities, or “Apus,” by the locals.
When we get to Humantay Lagoon, you will have free time to enjoy the wonderful natural scenery. You’ll also see the countless altar stones, or apachetas, built near the lagoon’s shoreline.
Finally, we will return to Soraypampa, and finally to Mollepata. We’ll have a traditional Andean meal once we arrive there. Then, we’ll board our own vehicle and head back to Cusco. We plan to arrive there at 6:30 p.m.
