We will pick you up from your Cusco hotel at 8:30 a.m. Then, we will board our private vehicle and travel to Maras, which is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will enter the town and then visit the neighboring salt mines once we arrive. The Maras Salt Mines’ unusual pink color creates a magnificent panorama that contrasts with the rest of the Andean surroundings.
You must acquire an admission ticket before entering the Maras Salt Mines. Once inside, our tour guide will describe the process of extracting and collecting pink salt from the several water ponds dotted throughout the area.
Following that, we will visit the Moray archaeological site. To enter Moray, you must obtain a tourist ticket. Moray appears to be a historic stadium or amphitheater from a distance. However, the true purpose for Moray’s construction is still unknown.
Some historians believe the site was an ancient research facility used to cultivate plants from warm climates, such as coca leaves. When visiting Moray, you will note that the temperature rises somewhat as you descend to the site’s lower terraces.
Finally, we will depart Moray and return to Cusco. We plan to arrive there around 2:00 p.m.
