The Inca Q’eswachaka Bridge tour takes place in the southern highlands of Peru, in a remote Andean canyon region southeast of Cusco. This full-day experience allows travelers to witness one of the last remaining handwoven rope bridges preserved through an ancestral tradition that dates back to Inca times. Suspended above a deep river gorge, the bridge is rebuilt annually by local communities using ancient techniques passed down through generations. Accompanied by a professional guide, visitors learn about the cultural significance of this engineering masterpiece and the communal ritual that keeps the tradition alive. The journey includes scenic drives through highland landscapes, panoramic viewpoints, and peaceful rural settings. Ideal for culture lovers and history enthusiasts, this tour offers a rare opportunity to experience living heritage in an authentic Andean environment.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

CUSCO – COMBAPATA

The tour begins with early hotel pickup in Cusco. The tourist transport heads southeast along the Andean highway toward Combapata. During the drive, the guide accompanies the group, providing orientation about the route and scheduled stops. Upon arrival in Combapata, the programmed stop is made according to the itinerary. After completing this stage, the group boards the vehicle again to continue through the highland corridor toward the main cultural destination included in the tour.

The mobility continues toward Q’eswachaka Bridge. Upon arrival at the designated access point, the guide organizes the group and begins the established walking route toward the bridge sector. The vehicle remains parked in the official area while the guided visit takes place. After completing the explanations and the scheduled visit at Q’eswachaka, the group regroups at the transport to proceed to the next stop included in the circuit.

From Q’eswachaka Bridge, the transport continues along the Andean route toward the Four Lagoons circuit located in the same corridor. The guide accompanies the group during the panoramic stops included in the program. After completing the scheduled visit and explanations at the designated viewpoints, the group boards the vehicle again to begin the return journey along the same highland road.

After finishing the circuit, the tourist transport returns via Combapata and continues toward Cusco. The guide remains with the group during the drive back, concluding the Inca Q’eswachaka Bridge tour.
